Destruction of a collection of war relics
WW1 machine gun found in man's garage
Nearby houses were evacuated while army bomb disposal officers examined Alan Tissington's collection before blowing it all up http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/ukne...ns-garage.html

I think, in England, you have to have a permit to own a sharp stick. I wonder how many of those war relics got "lost" in the transit from his garage to the field where they blew them up? Someone has some new toys from that collection now.

The UK's not so bad, here we take war memorials and statues down. Take flags away and other harmless items because they offend somebody.

I can see why they evacuated the neighborhood. If any of the projectiles still had explosive in them, they were increasingly dangerous. A couple looked old, corroded and in bad shape. They didn't say whether the guy was skilled at deactivating them.
People find and some collect Civil War projos around here. I think we had one to go off a couple years ago, but that could be my bad memory. |
