With the cold temps right now, I know my bill is going up, but I'm trying to conserve where I can.
I've replaced most of the lights in my house with compact flourescent type bulbs. They cost more up front, but I've had some last 4 years, and they're only 15 watt, instead of 60 watt.
I use the luke warm setting on my washer. I figured if I did laundry in cold water, I'd just have to dry them longer, and my dryer uses more electricity then the washer does. I could be wrong though.
Now if I could just get my kids to care about energy for even a nano-second, I just might make some headway.

I wash all my clothes in cold water. Takes the same time to dry.

With me, it's the wife. If I don't watch her, she will have every room in the house lit up. I walk around behind her, turning off the lights. Don't care how many lights she has on in the room she's in, but I sure wish she would turn them off when she changes rooms.

I have the same problem, wife. I have been trying to teach her to turn off the lights when she leaves a room for 41 blankety years. I'm a failure as an educator.

Regular Thunder & Ice Storms has been helping me cut down on the electricity useage lately. Sounds like another storm is setting in right now!

I have Electricity in my Camping Trailer as long as the Sun Shines, or the Wind Blows.

Well, I don't know about Oklahoma, but wind power would work just about every day where I live!
