Default Crossbow

Due to the availability of Guns and Ammo, I'm thinking about investing my stimulus payment in a crossbow. Jake has been killing hogs with his.

The nice thing about the crossbow bolt (arrow) the bolts can be recovered and used over and over again, unlike bullets.

Sounds like a plan to me. Maybe Jake will let you shoot his so you can see if you like it. I've done a lot of bow hunting over the years, but never a cross bow. Until 2013, the only people who could hunt with a crossbow in Kansas, for anything except small game, were folks that were handicapped. I quit hunting big game about that time.

I've shot his. Up to 50 yards, his is good. They also eliminate the need of a silencer. He has killed multiple hogs without the rest leaving. We have 4 feeders with Blinds at 2, where we have access to plenty of both hogs, and deer. Jake bought a big commercial meet grinder, so if we can get vegetables, and seasonings, we are in pretty good shape.

Sounds like you guys are set up to get through the Biden years. Are you making any dent in the hog population? They seem to multiply like rabbits. You may have to start feeding the homeless.

Quality ain't cheap. And think of all the exercise you get looking in the grass for the bolts.
