Old Farts, Snow, Ice, and cold Winds, just don't go good together.

We've got about an inch of snow, with 21mph winds. Makes it feel like 6. All I've done today was feed the birds and squirrels. |

I used to love snow when I was younger, especially during deer season and at Christmas time. Three heart surgeries and a heart attack later - no so much. I still like to look at it, but don't like being out in it. The cold brings on the chest pain in a hurry and I'd like to be around a little longer. I wouldn't mind having a couple of inches right at Christmas though. It brings back memories of Red Ryder BB guns, an electric train and a Winchester single shot .22 rifle. Christmas was a magical time in those days. I wish I could get as excited about it now. I guess I, along with most people, have lost some of the true meaning of Christmas. With all the concern about being politically correct, we're lucky when some folks still call it Christmas. I recently went to my Grandson's 1st grade Christmas program. They called it the Winter Holiday Celebration. It's a sad state of affairs when Christ is somehow forgotten these days.

Obama says, "Happy Allah-days". I think it's 36 years now since I've seen snow and don't miss it at all!
