Loose front sight
I field stripped my carry piece Thursday just to clean the crud and corruption out of it and noticed the front sight was loose. I dug out the front sight staker to tighten it up. Nope, not enough tenon to re-stake. I managed to get the front sight out without damaging it, cleaned it up and glued it with Gorilla Glue. I've never used Gorilla Glue before, but the sight is as tight as if it was staked. We'll see how it goes. So far so good.

UPDATE
The Gorilla Glue didn't work. Took it to my gunsmith and had him silver solder it on. Better than new. 1911 Lives Matter |
