Question Shots Fired on Police Dash Camera!

https://www.autoblog.com/2018/11/15/...stop-shootout/

If I were the driver of the car that stopped and backed out I would have used my car to cut the assailant in half! There is a second video down a little bit that shows the shot up Police SUV. That was a "buy lottery tickets" kind of day for that officer!

There is nothing more dangerous than a car stop. You could be stopping a 78 year old grandma or a homicidal maniac. I can't figure out how the officer survived it - just lucky I guess.

Yup - they are no better. You never know what to expect or if the person that called you decides to turn on you when you try to arrest the other party.

I've had that happen more than once.

Me too! It's hard to fight a half-crazed guy when you have his wife/girlfriend draped over your back.

Thumbs up Blue lives matter!

A true case of love/hate relationship they loved each other and hated the LEO. I don't know how you officers do that job. I thank them all for doing it. I sure wish we could loosen the rules for engagement we saddle them with. Blue lives matter! I still would have plowed my SUV into the shooters door and took his legs off. That would have taken some of the fight out of him instead of just backing away. The illegal said he wanted to die, suicide by police officer? Looked more like he wanted the officer dead.

This doesn't show up in the cops want to kill people videos.

Please keep in mind there was a non-combatant inside the car also. ANY injury to this person would be your responsibility and liability, just as the police officer would have been liable for any injury to that person. IMO the person in the other car did the right thing.
