Default 10/22 mod at the range

My 10/22 has a 20" SS Green Mountain Bull barrel and a Fajen adjustable stock. Today was the first time I fired it after assembly. I ran a patch with Hoppes through the barrel and then dry patches.

I used the latest in High-Tech Bench Rest designs
It works even better when you put 3 loose blocks under the notch.

Didn't take much to get the rough scope zero at 25 yards. 20 rounds of Win 38 gr HP HV (Win 555)

I fired about 100 rounds at 50 yards and then fired 10 rounds of 3 different SV ammo. The barrel seems to do much better with SV than HV ammo, and doesn't like the Win Target 22 as much as CCI or Eley Sport.

A good word to the R. A. Coon family for providing forward and line spotting.

Those little guys totally ignored the shooting line and rounds. Guess they knew I couldn't hit them if I tried.

Default Caldwell Sandbag Rests

I tried again today using Caldwell sandbag front and rear rests. Improved the 50 yard results. The 10/22 also likes Wolf Match Target at $6.50/box...cough, cough

Good shootin' greener! That is a keeper for sure.
Someday I hope to have fancy range equipment like yours.

Looks like R.A. Coon better watch out! That's some good shooting.

Greener, you best check the legal status of those coons before you shoot at them. You could get into trouble. They may be here illegally and may be protected!!!

I hope not. I just shot one yesterday with my CCW. I was defending my Garden.

Is that the Garden doctrine instead of the castle doctrine?

They looked small enough that maw coon should have been around.

Hey Greener, I just had a fellow they call Stalkingbear, on the "Firearms and gun forum" do a trigger job on my 1022 for $80 dollars(shipped) that is just great. He was recommended by several people so I sent him my trigger group and my groups got really tight. Compared to other trigger jobs I have tried on other friends guns, his was the best. Just thought I would mention this in case someone out there needs a trigger job done very good and reasonable. Also quick turn around.

I've been dithering between buying the drop in trigger group, doing a parts replacement or sending the trigger group to a gunsmith in Michigan. I just watched this video and my take a shot at a diy trigger job.

Lots of little parts to mess with!!!!! I would have to really take my time to attempt something like this. I would imagine after you do a couple of these it wouldn't be so intimidating. Good luck on your endeavor.
