Default Sunday at the range

I finally had a chance to get to the outdoor range Sunday. The last 3 Sundays have been in the 60's, but of course, it's been windy too. I took out the Ruger American .22 rifle and the Henry .22 lever action. Every time I shoot the Ruger, I like it a little more. I did a little shooting at 100 yards with both .22s, but with the wind blowing, 2.5 to 3 inches is about the best I could do. Once I found the range and figured out the wind, the Ruger was about a sure thing on the 200 yard gong. It's shaped like an upside down pear and is probably 18" tall and 12" wide at its widest point. The 300 yard gong is half that size and needless to say, I missed it a lot more than I hit it. Sure had fun though.

Glad you enjoyed yourself rman. Nothing like a little "Range Therapy". I've only made it once this year, and that was after the XDs came back. More to come though.

Gosh Teddy. Only one trip to the gun range this year? Maybe some of us need to come over and haul your old butt out to do some serious shooting.

It is a sin Teddybear. "Thou shalt not sit at home when thou could go shooting"

You should adopt the USPS motto:

"Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these shooters from the swift and accurate firing of their reloaded rounds."

That's a good motto to live by.
