Bear with this Police Log
Police Report from The Flathead ("Bear" with us)
(courtesy the Daily Inter lake ~ Kalispell) Two bears were spotted "knocking over trash cans." It was unclear whether they were grizzlies or black bears. Someone claimed she "heard a bear rustling around, making noises" and asked for police to patrol the area. Whitefish Police Department received two calls from Dakota Avenue and Ninth Street regarding bears. One caller said a "very large" bear was going through a neighbor's trash. Two bears tore through fencing and broke a window to get into a hen house on Ferndale Drive in Bigfork, where they injured a couple of chickens. A Mountain Drive resident in Hungry Horse woke up to a bear ?huffing? outside her bedroom window. The woman also heard banging on the house. Someone on Broken Arrow Trail in Kila told officers a bear reportedly came into a fenced area and killed a goat.

Our local news had about a 400 pound black bear caught on a surveillance camera strolling in every room of a house near here. It never touched anything, just checked it out and left.
