How to be a football coaching legend
NC State has had a couple of legendary football coaches. One was Lou Holtz
The other was known for developing quarterbacks. Three of his quarterbacks are pro's. He recruited a kid from Richmond who got little notice from D1 schools. The kid wanted to also play baseball and did so until he signed a pro baseball contract. Surprisingly the too short, too slow Richmond kid started for 3 years. At the end of his junior season the coach gave the kid the choice of either playing baseball or being the quarterback at NC State. The kid left NC State for a Big 10 school. Russell Wilson just signed a contract making him the highest paid pro football player. That coach was replaced at NC State in 2013. The guy who told Russell Wilson he couldn't play is a bit of a coaching legend at NC State. |

But that's not the kind of legend one would like to be.
