It's a lot of fun catching the big ones, but I think the 2.5 lbs ones taste better.

Taste like to me. I don't keep any, picture of a big-un is good enough for me. Had a 7 lb.er mounted I caught in Pennsylvania many years ago. That's a lunker in Pa. Everytime I looked at it I felt a little bad for killing it and won't do that again. Don't get me wrong, I have filleted many grouper and snapper alive and eaten them fresh that day. I just cannot see not leaving them go if I ain't gonna eat them.

I'm like you Vetter. I rarely keep any of the fish I catch. I put them back to catach again another day. I like the taste of bass, I'm just too lazy to clean the things.

With a little practice they are easy to Fillet. I have filleted enough perch, that it is not hard. I don't scale them. I just go down one side from behind the gills, over the ribcage to the tail, the flop the fillet over and run the knife between the fillet and the skin, with the skin laying flat on the board. If I get enough for a meal, I eat them. I love fish.

I like some saltwater fish but not to keen on freshwater. They mostly taste like fishy mud to me. Shellfish I can't get enough of. Scallops, oysters, shrimp and clams are my favorites. Grilled, steamed, raw, fried or with pasta. My tongue is slappin' my brain out! Tomorrow, whole wheat linguine and homemade tomato with calms gravy topped with sauteed garlic and scallops. Y'all didn't know it but Vetter's a darn good cook!

I heard the you don't even have to put cooking oil in you skillet in Florida any more, cause' the fish come pre-oiled.
Is that right #1 cook?

I don't use a skillet. I like to drink a few cans of Beer. then dip up the Oysters, crack them open, dip them in catchup and eat them raw.

I thought it was "fish oil", not "fish oiled"

Heck Calvin. I'd probably have to crack open a few six-packs to be able to do that!
