Top Bar Bee Hives
Awesome, Calvin....I have the online book in PDF format if you would like for me to share it with you. There is also a new video out he has on his site where he made a bottomless bee hive....and it has worked well. I am also going to build a top bar hive this winter....I am sure the bees will appreciate this style of home....blessings

Do away with their food supply, which incidentally is the same as yours, except in a different form. No bees, no food.

My wife, son and grandson are all in the same boat. Getting stung doesn't have any serious effect on me...it just really pi$$es me off!

They don't bother me, but my Son is allergic to the stings. When I was a Bee Keeper I got a lot of hives from people that had kept them a long time and then all at once develop an allergy to the stings. I think its something that change in your immune system. I've had several hundred stings at once and it didn't bother me. Wife used to complain at night and said I smelled like Bee Venom even after showering.

I've always thought it sounded like an interesting hobby. We use a gallon and a half of honey a year, but my wife and granson are epi-pen dependent so I don't pursue the hive keeping as a hobby. We do have three Amish farms within five miles or so that keep hves so the availability is constant so far. A five gallon can of honey is going for $62.50 but that's a bigger quantity than is practical for us to keep.

Thats a good price for Honey. I sold it for 12.00 Gal. several years back. I'm going to tfy to keep one hive in my garden for pollination and furnish my family with the Honey we use.
