Default Chocolate Sugared Donuts???

OK guys, consult your wife and answer me this question! Sharon makes some great "plain" donuts and has the recipe down pat. We make 6 to 7 dozen at a time. Keep a bag in the fridge and when we want one, heat them up 18 to 20 seconds in the microwave and dip them in sugar/cinamon. We freeze the rest and a batch lasts about 2 months. They taste great. Here is the problem. We don't seem to be able to get the "chocolate" donut recipe right. We come close to what you get in the various bakeries but are definitely missing something. Does anybody have a good recipe for the kind of "old fashioned" great chocolate sugared donuts you get in the better bakeries? Will be awaiting any and all ideas/suggestions! Thanks much..................Dick

Thanks Benvenue. Havn't seen that particular website before although we have taken a lot off the internet concerning chocolate doughnuts. We have gotten some other "hints" so Sharon has a lot of good ideas to try and perfect her chocolate doughnuts. Thanks again. Will let you all know how the "next" batch turns out!.................Dick

You're welcome. I hope the link helps some. I like to read the cooking sites but I'm not much of a cook. The wife is some better but we're both pretty basic.

We'll expect range reports (pun intended) on your progress & pictures are mandatory. Ben

We might need some samples to see if they are as good as they look.
