Another Project?
When I redid my 10/22 I through the stock and barrel in the closet. I was looking through the used gun ad for my favorite gun/tackle store and found a bunch of used 10/22's mostly F condition for sale. Wandered over yesterday. After some discussion that included my absolute lack of interest in the condition of the barrel and stock I came home with
By serial # made in 1986. A few minutes of high tech gunsmithing with a screw driver and allen wrench and Stock and barely used barrel from my other 10/22. Don't know if I need to replace extractor and firing pin. Trigger and sear need a bit of stoning. I don't think I'm going with a target barrel, but I probably will replace the stock. Target-type or tactical-type? While I was waiting for the NICS check, I wandered over to the tackle side. Lots of flash, attractive colors and they caught exactly what they intended to catch. |

Nice little project greener. Thanks for taking in an orphaned Ruger. I'd probably go with the target stock. (just my 2 cents worth)

Found a local guy with does 10/22 rebuilds. Traded the carbine stock and some green paper for a Revelations Tundra stock.
One of these days I'll have to take it out and see if it shoots. |
