Default .223 TulAmmo

I've seen Tulammo .223 as low as $210/1000 rounds on the net. WalMart has it for $4.97/20, or just slightly higher than the best net price with shipping. Bought a few boxes today to try. TulAmmo is Russian, 55gr FMJ steel cased.

It took more effort to load the ammo in my mags than the PMC Brass ammo I have. After that, the load, fire, eject cycle was flawless. Although I think I'm having some problems with the Centerpoint scope, the "accuracy of the ammo wasn't as good as I get with PMC Brass. Overall, if you aren't looking for 1 ragged hole but shorter range defensive type shooting, it is a good choice.

at 50 yards I got this shooting from a sandbag rest

The PMC ($0.35/round) gave me this

POI wanted to bounce high right after firing. Scope or mounted too loose. Not sure yet.

Could be the scope is loose. Take it off, re-mount it and torque the screws to 16 in/lbs.
Could be the ammmo. You should be getting almost one ragged hole at 50 yds.
The kid bought some PMC yesterday, so we will try it out this morning.

Real good possibility. My used .17 HMR started out shooting 1.25" groups at a hundred yards. The more I shot it, the worse it got. I checked the scope ring screws and the ring to mount screws and they were all tight. I took the scope off and found the mount screws were loose as a goose in the receiver. Cleaned up the oil underneath them and in the screw holes, put in a little blue Loktite and it's back to shooting decent groups again.
