Default Spring assist

I've recently picked up 2 knives that have spring assist opening. One is a nice Kershaw, the other a no-name brand that was in a box by the cash register at the pawn shop for $2.
I really like how easy they are to open with just a flick of the thumb. I do wonder though, does the spring get weak after being used for a certain amount of time, like the spring in an auto knife?
Anyone carry one of these daily?

I have a couple of spring-assisted Gerber folding knives. One I've carried daily for about 4 years. The spring is as good now as it was when new.

I have a Kershaw. I believe they use coil type springs so they won't loose the spring or break like the old flat springs.

My favorite gun show knife dealer (Kershaw and Swiss Army) says Kershaws should be stored open and/or the spring needs replacement once per year. They do the spring replacement for free. I have two Kershaws and a couple of other spring assisted knives. They work great and I enjoy the easy opening.
