Guess my camera equipment is a little outdated J_B. I still have a manual Canon SLR 35mm with a 300mm telescopic lens.

I gave my Mamiya SLR w/200 mm zoom to my son a while back. He gets a film bug every now and then and enjoys playing with the camera. I stopped using it with the advent of pocket digitals about 20 years ago. 10-15 years ago I decided I could take better pictures with a DSLR and bought a Canon that has autofocus and some automatic settings. It's been set to my normal shooting for so long that I spent some time with the camera and owners manual remembering how to use it. After I recharged a totally dead battery. Cell phones have pretty much replaced the competition.

People with talent, a good eye and the willingness to work to get good photos demonstrate that you just can't beat a good lens and camera.

We are fortunate to have J_B in our midst.

The camera I was talking about was one I bought to learn to take good crime scene photos. (That was in 1979.)
