Good morning gang! Coffee please Molly. Panther, nice of the tree trimmer crew to not bust up your bird feeder. The power company keeps the trees cut back here. Guess that's cheaper than putting lines up after storms. Just heard on the news that the Panhandle is putting lines in the ground and taking down the overhead lines. Well, Wifey is up so I'm going to claim the TV programming. See y'all later and have a great day!

Good morning. Thanks for the work of getting the board back up, Calvin.
Pam and favorite younger daughter had a ball with potting plants Saturday. I made a run to Lowe's for a specific brand of potting soil and then confessed my sins of getting that brand which was full of bark chunks. Off to take Pam's car in for inspection and ac fix in a bit. Doctor's appointment this afternoon. Should be a busy day. Pam did one of her better lamb roasts Saturday so I've been gnawing on a joint for a couple days. Y'all have a great day. |

Weather
DISCUSSION...
A high impact severe weather and flood event is set to unfold across eastern Oklahoma and western Arkansas Today into Tuesday. Thunderstorms are expected to blossom across eastern Oklahoma and western Arkansas late this Morning into this Afternoon as a potent storm system begins to pivot out of the Southwest and into the Plains. As a warm front moves north across the area this Morning into this Afternoon, the airmass across the region will become increasingly unstable. This will allow any thunderstorms that develop to become supercellular with a few strong tornadoes possible. Large hail and wind gusts to around 80 mph will be possible as well. This activity will taper off later Tonight. In addition, locally heavy rainfall will be likely with an increased potential for flash flooding across much of eastern Oklahoma and western Arkansas. 2 to 4 inches of rain will be common across the area with amounts as high as 8 inches possible in some locations. This will likely lead to flash flooding of creeks, streams and low lying areas. This is our forecast. The Board will Probably be down from loss of power. We'll get it up again ASAP.

I sure hope the weather guessers are wrong Calvin and you escape any damage and power outages.
Greener, good luck with Pam's car repair and at the doctors too. |

Good morning. Keep your head down Calvin. We can do without the board for a few days a lot easier than permanently. Hope you get a break today - yesterday was sure rough, especially West of you. We have more thunderstorms and heavy rain promised, but not a great chance of severe weather. Around here, flash flooding is a greater concern. All the big lakes in Central & Eastern Kansas are waaaay above normal levels. The Smokey Hill, Republican, Blue, Delaware, Wakarusa and other rivers & creeks feed these lakes and the overflow all ends up in the Kansas River. It is a Missouri River tributary. The Missouri and Mississippi are at flood stage so the Corps of Engineers is trying to hold as much water back as possible. They advise that Tuttle Creek Lake near Manhattan, may soon have to start releasing large amounts of water. Perry Lake is near me and is at the highest level since 1993. Right now it is at 1915 feet, just 5 feet below the level during the historic 1993 flood. All boat ramps and both marinas are closed.

Good morning folks. We had our share of storms yesterday. Lots of lightning, wind, some really hard rain, pea sized hail but, thankfully, no tornado. Pittsburgh, KS. had one touch down. No reports of people hurt, just trees and roofs.
There's going to be more today. Right now they say it will start about 10am. We are in a flood warning now. Creeks and rivers are full or overflowing. Everyone, stay safe. Don't take chances if bad weather comes your way.
