Thanks for the comments but I still am a lousy pistol shot. Then I watch Bob Munden shoot a target at 100 yards with snub nose pistol. Then I turn off the TV and go to bed. Did pretty good the other day with my Crosman 22, as in hitting small size Pepsi cans at 75 yards. Quite an accurate gun after the tune.

Cool

This falls into the "never happy" category. I totally love my #1 cane. The #2 I leave in "Bad Booger" in case I forget #1 (it's kinda a limp wrist 3/4" cane). The #2 is about 1 1/8" hickory and fits my hand good. It's got some nicks and the crook could use some sanding. After watching some cane for self defense video's I think my crook is too tight. I could cut an inch or two off and it would be fine. I even could put a "sharp" edge on it but I read where prosicuters will use that as an attempt to make it a weapon. I also read where I can stick it in boiling water until it opens to where I want it and stick it in the freezer to stop it from going too far. The coolest though would be to cut some off and carve a "bird's head" in the end with a semi-sharp beak. I ordered a Dremil and I'll see how I do. Wish me luck, I'm no artist unless B.S. counts! If it comes out good I'll post a pic.

Vetter, I also have two Canes. My Sunday and Dress Cane is 3/4" Oak Cane that looks real nice and is not scratched up. My using Cane is a heavy 1"+ Hickory cane that I have used for everything. Last week I helped Jake load out Cattle with it. It has lots of Character. It is skinned up from one end to the other, but I wouldn't hesitate to hit someone over the head with it, if need be. It sure wouldn't hurt the cane.

Now that's funny, allow me to quote ole Bill Jordan " you need something heavy incase someone bumps their head on it" of course he was talking about the lugged barrel on the model 19 but I think the same applies for your walking stick. As for defense, Col Rex Applegate made great use of the walking stick in his later years, I too do not need one but I seem to use one quite often, I dig it. Besides, I figure it could do double duty as a sipod for my carry gun....OK, maybe not but I like multitaskers.

Yep , my Multi-tasking seems to be turning into Single-tasking, or No-tasking.
