West Lake Tohopekaliga...
Next Saturday I'll be fishin' a Bass Tourney on West Lake Tohopekaliga, better known as "Toho". Lake Toho is a 22,700 acre shallow bass factory with a length of 13 miles and a maximum width of over 4 miles. Late winter / early spring is when most big-uns' are caught. Lake record is 16 lb 10 oz and was caught post spawn. Taxidermist said it would have had atleast 2 lb of eggs if caught pre-spawn. A fish camp had a 16/6 in his shiner tank and he let me lip hold that monster about 30 years ago. It could have eaten a soccer ball! The largest two-man limit catch of large mouth bass totaled 151.23 lbs. with a 10 fish per licensed fisherman limit, or 7.5 lb average. [The current limit is 5 fish per licensed fisherman.] Imagine if they had to cull that limit to 10 fish what the average would have been. The Florida Fish & Game has indicated that there is one bass over ten pounds for every five acres of lake. That's 908 over 10#. Hope one of them has Vetter's name on it!

Have a great successful tourney there Vetter. I wish you all the luck in the world for one or more of those big boys. Maybe you can win and get a sticker for your window when you are in the Motor Cade in 2012

Good Luck Vetter. I've got some of them Florida Strippers in my Pond. Caught one that weighed 8 1/2 lbs.
