New pistol
picked up a, new to me, Rem. XP100r in 223 for Javalina handgun season. These are getting hard to find around here. Has a 21/2-7 Burris ao scope so I can reach out and touch em.

Supposed to be a pretty accurate pistol, good find.

That should do it. I have a Scoped .44mag Contender that I hunt with. That 223 ought to reach out and get them, if you do your part.

going to go out today and see if it does shoot? Now if this old man can do his part without old man seizures . This one has 3 rounds in the clip rather than just a single shot. One thing about 223, it isn't hard to find ammo. I don't know much about Burris scopes though? My buddy said they are not too good! Looked this one up and it was over 350 dollars so maybe it will be as good as a (tasco) . Have to rig up a sling to carry it around cause it ain't real light. Will report later.

That's a great looking handgun Chort! I sure like it better with the wood stock instead of the original plastic. Should be a great shooter. Burris is actually one of the better brands of scopes. I have a 3x9 on my Ruger 77 .22 Hornet and it is clear and fog-free.

Thanks guys and glad to here that rman. Finally got the scope sighted in pretty good but had to shim the front up a little get the up & down more centered for parallax. With a bipod to help the old man wiggle to go away I should be able to get at least 1 inch groups from 50 to 100 yards. It is more accurate than I am capable of. Watched a forum that shoots these things and they were shooting 10" gongs at 1000 yards. They had a variety of different calibers that they shot. A lot of them shot the 7mm-08. This 223 is easy to shoot. I am going to like this gun. We are going to try my buddies Harris bipod on it tomorrow.
I hit a 12"? spot on a rock at 208 yards leaning the gun on a tree branch for stability...Giggle.......sucks getting old!!!Got some Win.hp's to try that are 3600fps. The shells I was using were some china reloads he gave me here it go bang. They didn't do bad though. Want to try some Hornady's also.

Well after 120 rounds through this gun things just got worse! It won't hold a group at all with any ammo. Looking through the brass I found they all had a flat spot at the neck of the bullet. So checking the chamber you could see a flat spot where the neck of the shell goes in. Not sure what could cause this to be there? I sent Rem. a e-mail and see if they could shed some light on the problem. Looks like I may end up pig hunting with my bow, which is a ball but the stink pigs have been really alert as there is a mountain lion that has set up in this area for his territory.
I am almost through with my radiation treatments, only one more week. Will be nice when I can taste food again. Not sure how long it takes to come back Would like to down size the DR related items. Well I'll take my and go sit down.
