Default AR 15 Stocks

With many different Stocks available for the AR 15 I have been trying a few out for myself.
The A2 stock works very well for what they are, but I like an adjustable Butt and Cheek Risers.
First I gotta' say that those Quick release skeleton stocks are my least favorite. I don't like the feel and they only have three or four positions to move the Butt front to back.
I ended up with a MAGPUL PRS-5R25 on the LR 308. Infinite adjustments through the travel of the Cheek and Butt pads. The PRS is heavy, but it adds to the balance of the Stainless Steel, 24" Bull Barrel DPMS LR 308. This rifle weighs about 12 1/2 pounds without a magazine and ammo.
I bought a LUTH "MBA" last week and installed it on my 6 MM RAT.
The MBA, like the PRS can be set to the exact length and height with the turn of a knob to loosen the adjust screws. Plus the MBA is about 1/2 the price and weight of the PRS.
I usually adjust the Butt to full, or near full length, and the Cheek Riser to match ring height for good eye position to the scope.
I shot the RAT today with the MBA, and found it to work very well on that rifle.
There are a few more stocks that I would like to try, but for now I'm happy with the PRS, MBA and A2 stocks.

Kansas I have the Magpul PRS on my 20" bull barrel RRA and like it a lot except for the price. I guess I haven't seen the MBA - hmmm... sounds like a winner.

Are we still on for this weekend?

Yes we are. You can check out the MBA.
Bring shotguns if you have any.

We have them. (They're not much though) And I'm a lousy shotgun shot!

Maybe we can change that by Sunday afternoon.
The Weather Guesser says temps in the mid-sixties for next weekend.
I'll set in a load of firewood.

Sounds good Kansas! I doubt that all my bad habits can be cured in a weekend, but it's worth a try. I know what I am supposed to do, but end up aiming instead of swinging through. We'll be down sometime Friday morning - depends on how early I can get Tristan up and running. I'm looking forward to a cold Bud by a hot fire.

Check out this AR 15 stock. Looks like fun except for buying the AR eeed!

I've seen these before. I can't afford the ammo and full auto has never been my thing. I'm guessing there are lot of folks that would eat this up though.

I agree with you rman. They're a good ammo waste'r. Just another gimmick.
