.25 cal air gun
I enjoy looking even if I can't buy.
Benjamin has a .25 cal air rifle out that shoots a 27+ grain pellet. I would think that would put an air rifle soundly into the realm of a short range small game getter. That should truly be a viable option where firearms are prohibited. |

I saw where they are getting the .22 springers where they are about 1100fps. Thats getting close to the 22lr.

This is after my tuneup on my Rem. Vantage 177. The speeds they show on adds are with a super light pellet that will shortly destroy your seal. They are also at sea level. I found that I loose quite a bit at 5000 ft elevation. I am in the process of tuning my Crosman NP 22 cal short stroke. Just waiting for the seal to arrive. Hope the results are as good as the Rem. was! Calvin, you should be able to do this good with your B26. Finding the right pellets that the gun likes is important.

Just take the gun apart. Then use a brake cylinder hone and re-hone the compression chamber, then de-burr all the slots and everything that was punched out when they made the power plant including the cocking arm. Then put in a new seal and lube everything correctly with the right lube. Then reassemble everything and blue loctite the main trigger housing screw and the two screws that hold the fore stock.
The GTA site has a ton of information on tuning many different air guns. OR..... send it to at tuner and have them do it! In Gamo and many other airguns you should install a better trigger which is also available on the GTA forum. It seems sad to buy a gun and then tear it down and rebuild it to get it to shoot good?

Oh ya Teddybear, I have seen a lot of reports about the Ruger airhawks that were bought for a cheap price and tuned and shoot as good as a 300 dollar airgun so it does make a difference. Air rifle headquarters site has the most complete parts and lubes and seals for most guns. Most people have a bad habit to over lube and cause dieseling that burns the seals up.
