Since Hurricane Wilma's 7-8 foot storm surge when a 2-3 foot was forcast we tend to evacuate. Seventy percent of Key West went under water. We do keep a generator, gas, propane, extra can goods, water, dog food and ammo to protect ourselves if necessary from those who didn't prepare.

That's a good idea! I'll get some dog food to give to the people that didn't prepare.
We have a fireplace & a wood stove, & plenty of food stored. Plus, I can always do a little huntin' to help things go a little better.

I'm going to work on making the travel trailer that I camp in all summer completely self sustainable. I have the power. Now I need the Water and Food. Going to Till up a big place for potatoes and garden it the sandy soil I have. Will probably have a Well Drilled. Wouldn't take a whole lot to make it where the Wife and I could be completely self sustainable.

Good idea Bobby. We don't think about being prepared sometimes, until it is too late. I have a Generator, because we have Ice Storms sometimes, and try to always have some canned food and bottle water on hand. I stay prepared where I could go for a while if everything was shut down.
