Victims of gun violence to sue gun makers...
House and Senate Democrats introduced legislation Tuesday they say will allow victims of gun violence to have their day in court.
The Equal Access to Justice for Victims of Gun Violence Act aims to repeal federal protections blocking firearm and ammunition manufacturers, dealers and trade groups from most civil lawsuits when a firearm is used unlawfully or in a crime. Those protections date to 2005, with the passage of the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act. Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., one of the bill's co-sponsors, said since PLCAA became law, state and federal courts have "dismissed numerous cases against the gun industry," adding that other cases were likely not brought at all. Schiff, surrounded by members of gun violence prevention groups including Moms Demand Action, Brady and March For Our Lives, said the purpose of the legislation was to "correct the error Congress made" nearly a decade and a half ago. "Responsible actors in the gun industry don't need this limitation on liability. And the irresponsible ones don't deserve it," Schiff told reporters at the announcement of the bill. "We will not stop, regardless of the Senate majority leader [Mitch McConnell R-Ky.] ignoring the pleas of the American people." Gun sales are down, if us "gun nuts" thought that had a chance we would all be out buying guns. They should be able to sue the system that puts felons back on the street. |

Amen to that! That's like accident victims suing the auto manufacturer because someone was texting and hit them head on.

Go back and peruse your gun owners' manual. Seems like 80% of it is the gun is dangerous and these are the dangerous things you shouldn't do with it because they are dangerous.
But I don't recall S&W telling me that a 1450 fps 125gr JHP coming out of the barrel of my 686 might give me or someone an owie. Maybe they should warn me. |

I believe Ford has an upgrade, if the vehicle can't stop it'll process going right or left to avoid it. I don't know if it's available on anything other than the Edge. They are all making improvements to them. Mr. Gadget, do yourself a favor and don't drive one or I guarantee you'll be on line looking at them all like a dog in heat. I wonder if I put "Pro Pilot Assist" on my insurance will they get the ticket if it wrecks?
