Default Ranging

I've been trying to learn how to range targets with a MilDot scope. It's hard (math is involved) but I am begining to get the hang of it.
Do any of you folks have any secrets that you would share regarding ranging with a scope?

Sorry Kansas, but I'm no help. This is a pretty good article on it though:

Good link. I used "mils" in artillery to estimate distance changes. It is basically one yard per 1000 yards (one meter per 1000) meters. If something spans the distance between two dots at 1000 yards, it is 36", at 100 yards it's 3.6. (100/1000 X 36 = 0.1 x 36 = 3.6).

Here is another article on mil dots. http://www.mil-dot.com/articles/how-...il-dot-reticle
