Montana Arby's to offer elk, venison sandwiches
For me this is a good thing, as I'm not able to hunt elk any longer.
Link has video of the new elk sandwich http://www.kpax.com/story/36608075/b...son-sandwiches An Arby's restaurant in Billings is one of three across the country that will offer a new elk sandwich. The food chain announced in a news release issued Monday that the elk sandwich will be available at the Billings West End restaurant located at 2834 King Avenue West beginning on Saturday. The other two restaurants are in Casper, Wyo. and Thornton, Colo. Arby's also announced it was returning and expanding its offering of venison sandwiches to all its restaurants. ?The positive response to our limited offering of venison last year was so widespread and passionate that we knew we had to find a way to offer it nationwide,? said Jim Taylor, chief marketing officer of Arby?s Restaurant Group, Inc. The venison sandwich features a thick-cut venison steak and crispy onions topped with a juniper berry sauce on a toasted specialty roll, according to the company's press release. The venison is marinated in garlic, salt and pepper and then sous-vide for three hours. The juniper berry sauce is a Cabernet steak sauce infused with juniper berries. The elk sandwich features a tender elk steak topped with blackberry port steak sauce and crispy onions on a toasted specialty roll. |

I'm not crazy about deer and probably wouldn't like elk either. I guess it's because I was never a hunter.

I wonder what their sources are for these meats? I would think there would have to be a reliable and steady source to supply venison to restaurants all over the country.
Having been in 2 collisions with deer on county roads around here, I wouldn't mind if they culled some of ours.

The venison and elk are farm raised, not wild deer or elk. Elk is so much better than venison is.... now if they served moose, that would be worth waiting in line at -10*

Sounds good to me. I'll visit my local Arbys and check it out.
