My Rides
I drive an 08 Toyota Corolla S. It gets between 36 mpg regularly and I have squeezed 40 out of it. I also have an 01 Corolla that my Girlfriend drives. I have a 140,000 mi. on it with a tuneup 2 sets of tires and a brake job. I have found that the Toyotas are fairly owner friendly. For back roading and knocking around I have an 1988 Olds Cutlass Ciera 4 banger that gets 25 mpg.. I liberated it from the scrap pile. A few dents and some rust but not bad. Runs great , I have about 300 bucks invested in it. This is sort of a "rat runner" project. Keep it going as cheaply as possible that's the challenge. The price gas has been, those vehicles that get good gas mileage sure come in handy. I drive a 94 ford 4 cyl Ranger a lot.

I also have an 08 Corolla. Mine doesn't do quite as well as yours. It averages about 34 and the best it's done is 38. Now that gas prices have dropped it's not quite as important, but who know when that will change again.
