Thumbs up Most awesome American man-mobile...

I just read an article about the Corvette ZR1. 638 HP, get this, 604 ft. lbs. of torque, 0 to 60 in 3.4 seconds, top speed 205 MPH, runs the quarter in the low 10's off the showroom floor and still gets 20 MPG. All this from the best engine since the old flathead Fords, a Chevy 350 small block. A little pricey for us mortals at about $120,000. but I might think about meeting Satan at the "crossroads" someday. The ZO6 uses a 427 aluminum hand built big block and produces a mere 505 HP with 470 ft. lbs. torque and 0-60 in 3.7 seconds, gets 24 MPG and is only $80,000 and up. They used the small block in th ZR1 because the 427 wouldn't stay together with the supercharger. I may get a 2012 ZR1, in 2025 if I'm still here. In the meantime I'm happy with "Bad Booger". He's a 2002 ZO6 with 26,000 miles. He's got 485 dyno'ed HP and is almost too fast for the old man. Still gets 28-30 Hwy and GM just builds great automobiles. We don't need no stinkin' imports!

Sounds like a great American muscle car, but I can't afford a house that costs that much! Oh well, I can dream.
BTW, where's the pictures?

I've got such good service out of my little Ford Ranger, that I was wanting to get another one, and now they are closing their Ranger Plant down, and stopped making them. Why is it when a Company makes something good, they quit? Seems like they don't want anything to last, where they can sell more of their junk.

I have been a Ford supporter since they refused Obama's (our) bailout bucks. Now, they have built a plant in India which will employ 5000 Indians. I'm pissed at ford too now!

You fellows probably know this but I'll give you my two cents.

I think the Ford Ranger is a Mazda B series design that Ford had a license or agreement to re-badge & build in their plants.

I don't know if Mazda still makes the B series or you may have an objection to the funny name but you might search it out.

I agree the Ranger is a dandy. Drove the son's Ranger to St Louis for shipment overseas & wanted one. Wife doesn't think we need a pickup truck so there you go.

Your Wife might be like my Wife, if you had a Pickup Truck. She has a Ford Taurus Car, but when we go somewhere, she always says, "why don't we take your Truck". Either she likes riding in my Truck, or she is saving mileage on her Car.

Calvin @ 5:32

"Either she likes riding in my Truck, or she is saving mileage on her Car."

Mileage. Same here, we always travel together in my car.

Worse yet, we replaced her 12 year old car a couple months ago. She hasn't let me drive the new one yet.

Geez, bump the curb a couple of times & she doesn't want me to dive her car.

Excuse the cut & past of the reference of what you said. Haven't figured out how to do that the right way yet.

See that little round cornered square with the pen & paper & "QUOTE" in it down in the right hand corner?
That will do it everytime.
Glad to have you aboard Benvenue!

Ask question, get an answer. That is how it is around here. I, however, can't guarentee the answer will be correct around here. But you will get an answer. LOL
