Fallon MT 1905
(WHITE?) ELEPHANT BAR, 1905. Never published elsewhere in this format, the wonderful shot by Evelyn Cameron showed a bar in Fallon, 55 miles east of Miles City, Montana. Whiskey or beer barrels were at the side. Two signs promoted Grain Belt Beer. Four gents were balancing atop the hitching rail when Cameron got the shot before one faltered. At the left were a root or beer cellar entrance and an outhouse with support poles. There were no trees nearby, not unusual on the dry plains of eastern Montana.
The elephant was likely painted white, but could it have been pink? Fallon was a water stop for the Northern Pacific Railway. This unincorporated community now has about 65 households. - in Fallon, Montana.

I can see why women were so popular, it's all men! Great picture of the rugged times in old America!
