Default US made cars

Looking around at used cars, I've stopped at a few new dealers too. I've been looking at the country of origin stickers to see where they say the engine and transmission are made. So many US brand cars are using engines and trannys made elsewhere anymore. I even saw a new Jeep with a US engine, but Japanese tranny. Oddly, right next to it was a new car with engine and tranny made in the US, it was a Kia Optima.
I could be wrong, but I think I'd lean toward the car that is putting American workers in good jobs, making things, not just assembling stuff from elsewhere.

Panther, a wise old Boss, who was a multi-millionaire,, where I worked for 21 years, once told me something that made a lot of sense, and I have always tried to do. He said "I always spend my money with friends as close to home as I can, because then I have a chance of getting some of it back, but if I spend out of the Country, I probably won't see any of it again".

That's why it's hard to buy an American car, they're all mutts these days.

The cars that are assembled in America and have the most American made parts are the Toyota Camry and the Honda Accord. Five of the top ten cars are from overseas manufacturers.

Just another example; I was at a show recently and they had a new Camaro out there. US engine, but the 6 speed tranny was made in Mexico, and the final assembly point for the car is in Canada.
