Excellent Teddy. The Indiana Patriot Guard provided an escort for my grandsons unit when they came back from Afghanistan last month.

Back in the 60's I rode a Honda 350CL for several years and enjoyed it. After a 15 year break I acquired a fairly well used BMW 650 and rode it for a couple of years. When it became painfull to have the wind on my ankles at 80 degrees I gave it up about ten years ago. Sure was fun though.

You are right about street bikes being fun, caneman. I had to give them up though. I found that no matter how high the speedometer went, I would have to see if the motorcycle would really go that fast. One day, many years ago, while riding home from town at 140 in a t-shirt and cut off jeans I decided that I couldn't resist the feeling of going that fast with nothing around me except air. I rode the bike into the shop, serviced it and shined it up and parked my new 750 Honda in the yard with a for sale sign on it. I still like to get on a dirt bike from time to time, but there is no desire to own another street bike.

I rode street and dirt bikes for years. Finally at around 50, I got tired of people pulling out in front of me, changing lanes and forcing me to the curb, and tailgating me. As much as I love to ride, I'm just plain afraid to any more. I sure do miss it though!

This might be heresy but I still have a hankering for something akin to the old Honda 110 Trailbike. Many years ago when hunting in Wyoming we sat in camp one night and a couple of Conservation Officers rode up on their Trailbikes and talked to us a bit. They got around the back country in fine shape and didn't have to worry about stock feed or water in the pretty arid "Bighorn Mountains".
