Are your food prices still rising?
When gas was at $4/gal I kinda understood food prices going up, transportation costs and all that. Gas has been under $2/gal for awhile now, but I stopped at the store yesterday and saw a number of regular items are still climbing. Coffee was up on some major brands, name brand soda pop was up, some meats and breads. Basically, the generics seemed to be holding their own, but not the name brands. Is that happening everywhere, or are they just picking on us?
I also saw this at a gas station the other day. As I was paying for gas, I decided to pick up a 20oz. pop to drink on the way home. Dr. Pepper was about a quarter higher then Coke, so I got a Coke, only to realize when I got in the car that it was a 16oz. bottle. Sneaky! |
