Default Apollo 11 nerd!

I have been listening to this a lot lately:

https://apolloinrealtime.org/11/

The command center moment-by-moment as it happened 50 years ago. It is amazing all the work and discussions that went on to make the Apollo missions work!
LOTS of old school math!!
I am one of the few at work that was ALIVE during Apollo 11....that makes you feel old!

Click on the mission control audio tab and the you can listen to capcom or click on any position in the command center to hear what was being discussed...

Cool stuff. My whole family watched all the broadcasts on tv. It was exciting stuff at the time.

That's pretty neat glock! Like panther, I watched this live. In those days, I think the whole world was watching. (At least, those of us who were alive then.)

Great site.

I was at Ft Bragg being entertained by the Army at ROTC basic training. 6 weeks of fun in the sun and sand. We got from 13:00 Saturday to 13:00 Sunday off. I spent the day with Pam in Raleigh. We went to a shopping center, bought Baskin Robbins sundaes and watched the landing coverage on the TV's in the Windows display windows. Since it was 50 years ago and I was distracted by and all chocolate triple treat and Pam, some of the details are a bit fuzzy.

The Apollo 11 NASA footage was deleted in 2006 by NASA. They were recycling tapes and didn't realize what was on the tape.

I guess it's pretty amazing we all know where we were then. Our chests were puffed out when we made it to the moon!
