Thumbs up

Sharons Impala has a 3.2 liter, DOHV 24 valve , first year in production "super engine" for it's size replacing the rock solid 4.2 liter witch simply a 350 V-8 with 2 cylinders removed. The 350 V-8 is still the most popular GM engine ever and thousands are sold as "LS Crate engines." The 3.2 was EPA MPG rated at 18/30 so She must drive mostly highway and must be an an excellent driver as far as backing off the accelerator whenever possible. My hat is off to her, that's the way I was taught to drive, I wish Wifey drove more like that. Your 2.4 liter 4 banger is EPA rated at 22 city and 32 highway, 28 combined so you may have a heavier foot or Gm is asking a lot outta the little 4 banger. My Nissan only has 176 HP but it seems peppy enough and gets really good MPG, 28 now overall. That little 2.5 liter is EPA rated at 29 combined MPG and it's doing pretty close. I don't think 23.5 is too bad for the Equinox, it sure is a great all purpose vehicle!
